Greetings!
It's spring here in Santa Fe, which means the wind doesn't stop and neither do my sneezes. By the time I will be able to get outside to enjoy the sunshine, the lilac blooms and the last of their fragrance will be memories.
So these days I spend time indoors writing poetry and am happy to have a poem forthcoming from Black Warrior Review, the literary magazine from the University of Alabama. I will post a link on my website when it goes live in the next issue, probably sometime this fall.
I have also been having fun with poetry workshops. I delivered one for the Santa Fe Public Library that took a deep dive into living poets including Hanif Abdurraqib, Deborah Miranda, Danusha Laméris, and Ellen Bass. The folks who attended were brilliant; we had a lively discussion. I will deliver another workshop with Writing the Wild on how crafting prose and poetry can inform each other. That date is still TBD and I'd love to say that I will send more information in the next newsletter, but ...
I'm disappointed that the Authors Guild, which hosts my website, will no longer be supporting this newsletter feature after 31 July 2025. That means that the site will no longer support new subscribers and I will no longer be able to send out newsletters from here. I have the option of finding a new service, which I am unlikely to do. So I will take this opportunity to thank you for subscribing and reading and encourage you to keep up to date by checking out the Events page on my website.
In the meantime, I would love to hear from you. You can always reach me through my website. And if there is something you really want me to address in one last newsletter (before 31 July), please let me know. I would be happy to oblige.
Thanks for reading,
Renata
